Several common ways of medical oxygen supply

The development of medical oxygen supply has generally gone through three stages: from the beginning directly in the ward or operating room to supply oxygen from oxygen cylinders, and then use the oxygen tank to concentrate supply oxygen, to the present more use of pressure swing adsorption technology to make oxygen and then direct continuous oxygen supply.

There are three main types of medical oxygen supply:

  1.      Using the high-pressure oxygen cylinder group for oxygen supply after the oxygen manifold reduces the pressure, the oxygen cylinder is produced by professional manufacturers and transported to the hospital’s oxygen room to provide hospital.
  2.      Liquid oxygen tank vaporized by the liquid oxygen vaporizer to reduce the pressure and then concentrate to supply oxygen after the steady pressure. The liquid oxygen is produced by a professional manufacturer, transported through professional transport to the hospital’s oxygen room for hospital use.
  3.      Using pressure swing adsorption oxygen equipment to produce medical oxygen, direct continuous supply oxygen.

At the earliest, most of the concentrated oxygen was used in the first form. By the 80’s of the last century, because of the growing number of large oxygen-producing equipment and the construction of specialized gas supply stations, the oxygen gasification of liquid oxygen became an important form of oxygen supply in the more abundant areas of oxygen. By the 90’s, the pressure swing adsorption technology has been further improved, the form of medical institutions using oxygen-producing equipment supply oxygen was rapidly promoted in various hospitals.

In front of the two forms of medical oxygen source are generally through low-temperature air separation method for professional manufacturers to produce, separate from the hospital, and then used by the hospital. The last type of PSA oxygen using various techniques to separate the oxygen inside the air, nitrogen, extract the inside oxygen for the hospital to use. Various devices have different advantages and the hospital can choose the most appropriate form to supply oxygen in a cost-effective manner based on its own hospital project and other realities.
