The medical oxygen supply system includes the oxygen source, vaporizer, decompression device, alarm device, transmission gas pipeline, and gas outlet. This article will introduce the main components of medical oxygen supply systems.
1.Oxygen Sources
There are three types of oxygen sources in the medical oxygen supply system. First, the oxygen cylinder provided by the oxygen generator is placed in the hospital manifold to supply oxygen; Second, using medical oxygen generators to extract oxygen from the air. Third, using liquid oxygen tanks (liquid oxygen gasification) for oxygen supply.
The quality of oxygen must meet the requirements of medical oxygen standards, oxygen purity ≥ 90%, key indicators such as carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide content meet the inspection requirements. Oxygen station construction must meet industry norms. The room for generating oxygen from the air should have good air quality. The air source inlet should be located where the pollutants are least.
2.Decompression
Oxygen station directly transported to the gas pipeline of oxygen pressure is generally higher than the ward oxygen pressure, the pressure is about 0.6-1.0MPa. The oxygen pressure in the main pipeline must be kept constant. If the oxygen plant obtains oxygen through the oxygen generator, the oxygen pressure must be increased by the booster due to the low oxygen pressure.
If the oxygen is obtained through the liquid oxygen gasification in the liquid oxygen tank, because of the high pressure, it is necessary to enter the main pipeline by decompression meter. After the oxygen is input into the ward and operating room through the main pipeline, the pressure is reduced to 0.35-0.6MPa through the second pressure reducing valve, and oxygen can be used normally through the medical gas outlet.
3.Medical Gas Alarm
This is a device composed of the sound and photoelectron alarm device.
Features:
(1) When the medical gas manifold pressure is lower than the specified value, the first-level automatic switching control box cooperates with the medical gas alarm, and the two groups of the gas manifold can automatically switch between them. At the same time, the alarm box emits audible and visual signals to remind the on-duty personnel to replace the used oxygen cylinder.
(2) When the oxygen pressure to the ward building exceeds the specified value, the gas alarm box will also emit a sound and light alarm signal, reminding the relevant personnel to check the repair promptly.
In order to ensure the stability of the oxygen pressure on each floor, oxygen secondary pressure relief boxes can be installed on the branch pipes of each floor to ensure that the oxygen pressure on each floor is not lower than 0.35Mpa, to supply continuous and stable oxygen. Using a two-stage pressure-reducing device not only reduces the pressure loss in the pipeline but also ensures the safety of the patient’s oxygen inhalation.
In case of system failure, hyperbaric oxygen will not flow into the ward to ensure the safety of the patient’s oxygen inhalation. The device of the pipeline using two-way design, one pipeline use, another standby. In the event of a malfunction, the device being used can be switched off, and the standby can be switched on. The oxygen can be supplied continuously and stable.
